The Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen says that Paul, their “psychic” octopus who predicted Spain winning soccer’s World Cup, is retiring from making sports predictions. Paul correctly chose food from jars decorated with opposing nations flags in each round. Some called it a fluke, but the aquarium confirmed that, no, he’s an octopus.

Some soccer fans were perplexed. How can a creature with 8 arms know anything about a sport where you can’t use your hands?
