"Plucking at the Peacock"

As part of NBC's major budget trim of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno has taken a $5 million per-year pay-cut.  As a result, instead of starting each day by driving a different custom car to work, every day Leno will be taking a different bus.

Many companies are needing to cut back to reduce expenses, especially the ones that had to pay out $40 million to lose Conan O'Brien.

“Eight for Today”

Octomom Nadya Suleman appeared on the Today show for an interview with her octoplets and one older daughter.  Nadya stressed that she was not being paid for the interview, unless you count free babysitting by Ann Curry.

“Lemon of a Pledge”

NBC came under fire for omitting the words "under God" during the Pledge of Allegiance during the U.S. Open.  But upon seeing NBC's ratings, God said, "Please, leave me out of it."

“Morgan Grinder”

Tracy Morgan will return to Tennessee to apologize for the anti-gay remarks he made in a comedy club.  This will make GLAAD happy, and will really make the comedy club happy, due to the cover charge and 2-drink minimum he can still charge the offended.

Once he apologizes again for making homophobic remarks, Tracy will go back to saying random, crazy remarks that aren’t necessarily intentionally funny.

“Universal Appeal?”

NBC Universal has purchased its own theme park.  The park’s rides, shows, and other attractions promise visitors the very best in mediocrity.

“Olympian Effort” or “Still ‘Lympian Along”

NBC made a deal to keep showing the Olympics until 2020.  In so doing, they have made sure that Americans will be able to continue to watch their best amateur athletes on the best amateur network.

“Clever Fox”

The Fox News program "Red Eye" has accused Jay Leno of stealing a joke from them.  So Leno is finally almost as funny as Fox News.

You almost can’t blame Jay.  I mean, Fox News is freakin’ hilarious.

Leno’s topper to the joke was to then report a news with an obvious right-leaning political spin.

“British Mol-ar”

On Thursday, the Today Show interviewed an American woman who awoke from a dental procedure speaking in a British accent.  People can tell she's not British, however, because she's had a dental procedure.

There is a name for the disorder.  It's called, "Being Madonna."

“Charlie and the Debacle-ate Factory”

http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2011-03-01-sheen01_CV_N.htm?csp=hf

This blog has had no new entries since February 18, a week and a half ago. Not wanting to waste an opportunity, nor disappoint all our show-business-obsessed fans, we took a purposeful hiatus to prepare for Hollywood’s biggest event of the year, in order to be able to cover the highs and lows. So our studio went dark in order to prepare, get behind the scenes, and come back with this astounding report on everything that was seen on and around the red carpets. Of course I am talking about Charlie Sheen. You thought I meant the 83rd Academy Awards? Who cares about that when you’ve got Charlie?

The “red carpets?” I was referring to the inside of Charlie’s eyelids.

Forget about the Oscars. If you want to hear all about winners and losers, you want to hear about Charlie Sheen – winner – and the people who have to clean up his hotel rooms – losers.

Now the latest is that Charlie is at war with CBS. Although, the network is trying lure him back by changing the title of his show to Two and a Half Kilos.

He’s television’s highest paid actor. He’s also television’s highest actor.

Charlie refers to his two live-in blonde girlfriends, the former nanny and the porn star as “the goddesses,” and even compared himself to a god. Clearly he’s just confusing the word “immortal” with “immoral.”

Meanwhile, the goddesses say they don’t mind sharing him, and more importantly, his money.

Maybe Charlie is suffering from delusions of grandeur. He referred to himself as a god. This could just be an extension of wanting a higher position than his father, who used to be the president.

As the most obvious proof that Charlie has lost touch with reality, he described Two and a Half Men as “good television.”

He is demanding an apology and a raise from CBS. Furthermore, he wants to be paid in crack.

Some people are saying it was an anti-Semitic reference when he called Two and a Half Men creator/producer Chuck Lorre by the Hebrew name Chaim Levine. This just goes to prove, what’s the point of going to AA, if your sponsor is going to be Mel Gibson?

Charlie’s publicist quit on Monday, releasing a public statement that Charlie’s behavior caused him to have an allergic reaction.

Charlie says it’s lonely at the top, but he like the view. At least, that’s what he says when he’s having sex with the goddesses.

In a related story, not that anyone cares, Jon Cryer seems to be perfectly healthy.

“NB… C is for Comcast”

http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/2011-01-18-comcast-nbc-universal_N.htm

Comcast has won FCC approval to take over NBC, marking the first time any company was excited about buying their way into last place.

Comcast will own 51% of NBC Universal, giving them popular channels like Bravo, Oxygen, and Telemundo as well as the entire slate of NBC’s mediocre programming.
