“Cryer’s Keepers”

Jon Cryer won the Emmy award last night for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, proving you can be on Two and a Half Men and win an Emmy without smoking crack.

Cryer’s next move is to go crazy, do lots of drugs, whore it up, and trademark the resulting catchphrases.

"Plucking at the Peacock"

As part of NBC's major budget trim of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno has taken a $5 million per-year pay-cut.  As a result, instead of starting each day by driving a different custom car to work, every day Leno will be taking a different bus.

Many companies are needing to cut back to reduce expenses, especially the ones that had to pay out $40 million to lose Conan O'Brien.

“Wearing Protection”

The U.S. Army says that they are developing body armor for female soldiers inspired by Xena, Warrior Princess.  Because they’ve figured out that the enemy can’t fight while they have an erection.

The armor will initially be for special operations, but it will then survive forever in syndication.

The women wearing the armor will be facing dangers such as poor plot construction and bad acting.

“Hall of Television”

Arsenio Hall will return to TV as the host of a new syndicated late-night talk show next year.  Though he’s been away from the format since 1994, Arsenio said, “I beat Johnny Carson before; I can do it again.”

In geometric terms, this is the chance for the Triangle Head to come full circle.

The show is set to air in the fall of 2014, unless, by then, it’s been stolen by Jay Leno.

Arsenio is excited to come back to TV, but he’s really excited about doing it without Donald Trump.

Since Arsenio won this season's Celebrity Apprentice, he figures that now, he ought to become a celebrity again.

“Ratings Drop”

Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr., former president of the Nielsen company that measures TV ratings, has died at age 92.  His funeral was attended by 100 people, but that represents millions of American homes.

"Many, Many See ‘Men’”

The season premiere of Two and a Half Men, with Ashton Kutcher joining the cast, drew 28 million viewers, which is far more than any other season.  Meanwhile, Charlie Sheen was at a public park, being watched by a handful of random passers-by and his ex-wife’s private investigator.

Monday’s viewership was a record high.  While Men has been TV’s top-rated comedy for years, it was previously always Charlie who was on a record high.

“Top Ten Rock Bottom”

Early Sunday morning, after an all-night bender, a drunk man broke into the Ed Sullivan Theater, where David Letterman’s The Late Show is taped, vandalized the lobby and urinated on a door.  Letterman later said, “Sorry, but that’s what I do when I forget my keys.”

Just to be on the safe side, Letterman once again apologized for making jokes about Sarah Palin.

At first police suspected a drunk tourist, because a native New Yorker would have just peed in the street.

Police are looking at the usual suspects: all the husbands and boyfriends of Letterman’s female employees.

“The Wedding Episode”

Hugh Hefner’s upcoming wedding will be televised as a special on Lifetime.  Hid fiancĂ© Crystal Harris wanted it to be on television in case Hef doesn’t remember getting married afterwards.

The wedding will not be broadcast live, just in case Hef isn’t.

Hef has said he also wants the wedding to have a pre-quel.  But he meant pre-nup.

Lifetime is known as “Television for Women.”  Hefner made the deal with them hoping he could get all those women naked.

“Cheer for the Host” or “Emmy is How Sue C’s It”

Glee star Jane Lynch has been named as the host of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards in September.  Lynch’s presence will raise the performance standards of the show.  For example, presenters will have to do aerial cheerleading acrobatics to get to the stage.

Lynch will be the perfect person to hand out awards to the winners, and then throw slushies in the faces of the losers.

Jane says she is honored to be hosting the Emmys, but admits she is only doing it as part of a scheme to crush a high school choral group.

“Cleaning Out Soaps”

ABC has cancelled long running sop operas All My Children and One Life to Live.  Instead of watching, the audience for both shows will now have to get a life to live.

The network would have kept All My Children on, but they’ve literally run out of people for Susan Lucci’s character Erica Kane to sleep with.

They’ve also run out of ABC executives for Susan Lucci to sleep with.

All my Children has been on so long, it should be called “All My Great-Grandchildren.”

“Beck Off”

Fox news and Glenn Beck jointly announced that Beck’s daily program will be going off the air.  To prepare for the transition, for a long time now, Beck has been going off his rocker.

Beck attributes the end of his show to a liberal, left-wing conspiracy to bring him down.

“The Return of the ‘King’?”

http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2011-04-03-larry-king_N.htm

Larry King says that since retiring from his nightly show, he misses doing TV. Mainly because he doesn’t remember ever doing it.

Larry says he would like to do another show, but he’d like it to be something different than what he’s done before. For example, he’d love to do a show that was actually interesting.

“Charlie and the Debacle-ate Factory”

http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2011-03-01-sheen01_CV_N.htm?csp=hf

This blog has had no new entries since February 18, a week and a half ago. Not wanting to waste an opportunity, nor disappoint all our show-business-obsessed fans, we took a purposeful hiatus to prepare for Hollywood’s biggest event of the year, in order to be able to cover the highs and lows. So our studio went dark in order to prepare, get behind the scenes, and come back with this astounding report on everything that was seen on and around the red carpets. Of course I am talking about Charlie Sheen. You thought I meant the 83rd Academy Awards? Who cares about that when you’ve got Charlie?

The “red carpets?” I was referring to the inside of Charlie’s eyelids.

Forget about the Oscars. If you want to hear all about winners and losers, you want to hear about Charlie Sheen – winner – and the people who have to clean up his hotel rooms – losers.

Now the latest is that Charlie is at war with CBS. Although, the network is trying lure him back by changing the title of his show to Two and a Half Kilos.

He’s television’s highest paid actor. He’s also television’s highest actor.

Charlie refers to his two live-in blonde girlfriends, the former nanny and the porn star as “the goddesses,” and even compared himself to a god. Clearly he’s just confusing the word “immortal” with “immoral.”

Meanwhile, the goddesses say they don’t mind sharing him, and more importantly, his money.

Maybe Charlie is suffering from delusions of grandeur. He referred to himself as a god. This could just be an extension of wanting a higher position than his father, who used to be the president.

As the most obvious proof that Charlie has lost touch with reality, he described Two and a Half Men as “good television.”

He is demanding an apology and a raise from CBS. Furthermore, he wants to be paid in crack.

Some people are saying it was an anti-Semitic reference when he called Two and a Half Men creator/producer Chuck Lorre by the Hebrew name Chaim Levine. This just goes to prove, what’s the point of going to AA, if your sponsor is going to be Mel Gibson?

Charlie’s publicist quit on Monday, releasing a public statement that Charlie’s behavior caused him to have an allergic reaction.

Charlie says it’s lonely at the top, but he like the view. At least, that’s what he says when he’s having sex with the goddesses.

In a related story, not that anyone cares, Jon Cryer seems to be perfectly healthy.

“Humans in 'Jeopardy!'”

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2011-02-17-watson17_ST_N.htm

On Jeopardy!, the computer Watson designed by IBM to play the popular TV trivia game, beat its competitors, past champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter on Wednesday’s show. This at least allowed Ken Jennings to maintain the ruse that he is not an android.

Watson’s victory led it to prepare to take over the world, but it was thwarted when Alex Trebek was quick to tell it, “Gort, Klaatu beratta niktu.”
