"Marines, Republicans, a Rhino, and the FBI

The Marine Corps  confirmed that in a photograph that appeared on the Internet, one of their Afghanistan sniper teams posed in front of a flag resembling the SS of Nazi Germany.  Noting that everything must be taken in context, at the time, those Marines were trying to impress Dick Cheney.

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has surged way ahead of Newt Gingrich, thanks to winning 3 primary elections this week in Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri.  Though, no matter how far ahead Santorum may be, you can always still see Newt behind him just because of his massive girth.

In a conservation group’s anti-poaching demonstration gone wrong, a rhinoceros died in South Africa, when a tranquilizer used to sedate the animal killed it instead.  Trying to save face, the organization changed their message, warning to rhinos to just say “no” to drugs.

Today the FBI released the file they had on Steve Jobs, from 1991, when then President H. W. Bush was considering his as a US Export Council appointee.  Though the file is now public, you can’t read it because their PC’s crashed.

The FBI also has a file on Bill Gates.  It costs about half as much to get, but it sucks.

“Peeping Principal”

The FBI arrested an Iowa elementary school principal for installing a video camera in a boys’ bathroom and downloading images from it to his home computer.  The biggest surprise: this wasn’t even a Catholic school.

Is Kaczynski a Bit of a Pill? or "1982 Time Capsule"

The FBI is seeking a DNA sample from Unabomber Ted Kaczynski as part of an investigation into unsolved Tylenol poisoning cases from 1982.  Kaczynski refused the request to voluntarily provide the sample, but said he’d be willing to mail it to them.

Rather than help the FBI with the Tylenol cases, Kaczynski would rather be a headache to them.

"iCrime"

The FBI is assisting in several robbery cases at Apple stores.  So far, clues are leading them towards suspects who are smug about how much smarter they are than PC thieves.

Authorities will try to identify thieves caught on security video, as soon as they pay the 99 cents for that video on iTunes.

The thieves may be hard to catch, since they can get away at 4G speed.

"From Mob to Moo" or "Ponzo the Clown"

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110209/ap_on_re_us/us_crime_family_feud

The FBI found Enrico Ponzo, a New England mobster accused of racketeering and attempted murder who disappeared in 1994, under an assumed identity raising cows in an Idaho ranch town. Rumor is, he was offering the cows “protection.”

He was planning to open a milk speak-easy.

His fake identity and cattle were all part of a Ponzo scheme.

“Hustle in Flo”

John “Junior” Gotti, son of the late organized crime boss John Gotti, has been indicted on conspiracy charges related to cocaine trafficking and three murders. Gotti has prior racketeering convictions for bribery, extortion, fraud, and gambling, but this pushes him up from the level of “gangster” to that of “gangsta.” Congratulations, Junior.

When he was released from prison in 2005, Gotti had said he had retired from his life of crime. This week’s cocaine and murder indictments illustrate just how important it is for retirees to keep active.

The indictment in Florida follows failed trials in New York in 2006 and 2007 that ended in mistrial or hung jury. The FBI had a hunch they could get Gotti in Florida based on his own claim that he retired.
